ABSTRACT

This paper deals with the shear resistance of round flat head nail in Stereospermum Fimbriatum (Wall. ex G.Don) A.DC. Nail size used in this study are 1 in, 2 in, 3 in, and 4 in long. Shear resistance of multiple nails is investigated in comparison to that of single nail. For a practical range of failure probability safety index and safety factor for each corresponding failure probability is determined and corresponding allowable shear resistance is proposed.
