ABSTRACT:

Various accelerometers for different applications

are currently available in the market. Its design is kept

on improving especially in the area of reliability,

testability and functionality. This paper presents a new

design of capacitive-based accelerometer which works

for high gravity impact namely 50g. The new

interwoven structure is implemented in the design of

the accelerometer. Its new test results are presented in

this paper. The experimental test results indicate that

the performance of the accelerometer is better

compared to the one available in the market. This

paper will focus on the test steps taken in verifying the

functional characteristics of the designed

accelerometer.
