Review of the Biasing Schemes for Differential Transconductors

ABSTRACT

Two biasing schemes, namely voltage biasing and current biasing, for differential transconductor are reviewed and compared.  Analytically, it is shown in this paper that, contrary to popular belief, it is not always the case that fully-balanced operation in differential transconductor requires fully-balanced input signal.  The advantage and disadvantage of these two biasing schemes are also discussed.
